About Suyaseva V.Kalathur Trust

Empowering Rural Women Through Thrift, Credit, and Livelihoods Since 1995

Suyaseva V.Kalathur Trust was founded with a singular vision: to uplift the socio-economic conditions of rural women in and around V.Kalathur, Tamil Nadu. Initiated by S.Samynathan, representing the Subiksha Rural Development Society, the trust emerged from decades of grassroots engagement, particularly through the formation and nurturing of Self Help Groups (SHGs).

Our Origins

Since 1995, SHGs formed by the Settlor S.Samynathan have been actively promoting thrift and mutual credit among poor women. These groups have conducted regular meetings, built collective savings, and supported each other through informal financial systems. Recognizing the growing scale and impact of these activities, the Suyaseva V.Kalathur Trust was formally established to provide structured financial management and long-term sustainability.

Our Foundation

The trust was seeded with an initial contribution of ₹1,000 by the Settlor. All subsequent donations, grants, and income are held in trust solely for the advancement of our mission. We do not hold any other movable or immovable properties beyond these contributions.
